Led by Lynn Hulme and Paula Thomas, our team has a combined experience of over 80 years providing care services for people with memory loss problems. Our team of dedicated, care professionals look after our guests on a day-to-day basis from the morning pick up and travel to the centre, throughout the day and all activities until the guest returns home again.
Lynn Hulme, Director
Starting her career in nursing and previously a Home Care Manager for Staffordshire County Council for 20 years, Lynn has a lifetime vocation to help care for others. Lynn has a diploma in Care Management Services, holds an NVQ Level 4 in Care Management and holds an NVQ assessor & verifier award from the City & Guilds of London Institute. Lynn often has a leading role in the annual Chrysalis Christmas Pantomime, most recently starring as Aladdin and her famous Fish pie is a firm favourite with the guests.
Paula Thomas, Director
With over 25 years of experience working for Shropshire & Staffordshire County Council, Paula was previously a Home Care Manager. Paula has a diploma in Domiciliary Care Management from the Local Government Management Board and holds an NVQ assessor & verifier award from the City & Guilds of London Institute. Paula is a Grandmother of 5 and will often be found leading the singing and games with our guests.
Our well established and growing team have many years experience in caring for the elderly and specifically those with memory loss problems. Well versed in the Butterfly-Approach our team ensures that each guests gets the time, care and attention that they need to optimise their experience of a day out at Chrysalis.
Chrysalis Day Support is committed to ensuring that our guests receive the very highest standards of care and service and all staff members regularly attend externally provided training courses to refresh and extend their knowledge in-line with new best practices and guidelines.
Everyone’s favourite team member is Charlie - our most loyal and fun-loving team member! Charlie is a Jack Russell dog who always gives each of our guests the very warmest of welcomes each day when they arrive. Charlie likes to entertain our guests who can enjoy playing and talking to Charlie and benefit from the therapeutic effects of stroking him and his companionship.
At Chrysalis Day Support our ambition is to maximise the happiness, well-being and abilities of our guests. We work closely in active, collaborative, partnership with the families of our guests to ensure that we are able to best support the needs of the individual. It is important to us that families are reassured that their loved one is in good care and we regularly report back to families on the progress of their family member; enabling an informed holistic approach to be taken for the individual’s overall care programme.
Our Local Community
Chrysalis Day Support is situated next to the orchard where the famous annual Horn Dance celebration is performed.
On a day-to-day basis,Chrysalis Day Support has a very well established working relationship with Staffordshire County Council and other local care agencies including Age UK, The MASE Group and Alzheimer's Society. We regularly liaise with social workers and care assessors and have an in-depth knowledge of the local care services system and processes.
